2009 DTEP – the beginning
The D&T show attracts all comers – This unlikely crew from the DTEP stand gave up their week and many weeks beforehand to make 2009 a really good start for the DTEP programme. Unlike many organisations and programmes all of the associates and members are qualified and experienced teacher/practitioners, many with industrial engineering backgrounds too.
From left to right: Mark is the artist and materials engineer; Allen is a highly experienced HOF and university programme leader, now a senior schools’ improvement officer; Martin is an experienced HOF and now a county based advanced skills teacher; Chris ‘the intelligent one’, leads a fantastic independent school D&T department in new technologies and is passionate about Green Power racing; Finally, Dave, also slightly intelligent with a vast experience of racing, speed records, practical science and getting new ‘big ideas’ off the ground.
On stand – is Nick trying to seem intelligent discussing good practice with Gina White HMI. Nick has a strong background in D&T leadership followed by several years at TEP as a programme director.
